Tutorial: How to Back Up your Blog

You can back up your blog to the Blogger Content Management System. The back up will be saved as an ".xml" text file.

 

The instructions below will walk you through the process of backing up your blog. These instructions were derived from the official Google support file, "Backup or Import your Blog."

1.  Sign in to Blogger and select the blog you wish to back up. 

2.   In the left menu, click Settings.

3.  Scroll and locate "Manage Blogs".

4.  Click "Back up content". 
     a.  A "Back Up content" decision box will appear:

5.  Click Download.
 
The blog is now backed-up as an .xml file on the Blogger CMS, and may be viewed if desired. 
 
 In this example, the file was viewed using the "downloads" folder of Internet Explorer.

Double-Click on the file and it will appear as an .xml file.
